toxickiss | 6th Show [Video] First part accidental

[When the video is on, it's from a tilted view from the ground. Most likely on top of other things, as anything heard is slightly muffled. Lily's pulling at one of the many poles (of pipes, supports and such) in the open area with a rather dirty and dusty looking hand. She's also wearing somewhat normal activewear, which is an unusual thing for most people that knew her. After a couple of tugs, she puts one foot against the pipe to start a bit of a climb. After the first large step, the next leg hooks and wraps around as Lily reaches over for one of the higher horizontal pipes.]

Just one simple test...

[Hanging from the pole, Lily starts pulling herself up before dropping and swinging her legs forward for extra momentum. Once at the peak height, she turns with the adjusted grip and repeats the process until high enough to hold herself up and vertical before extending the left leg out, bending and twisting so the first foot has a place. Then the other so she was crouching. Releasing one hand, Lily slowly stands up on the pole, bouncing on the balls of her feet to make sure the movement and slight bending of the pole wasn't going to lead to a break.]

[Then she steps back and drops. Hands grabbing the pole and using it to start a swing out towards the PCD and releasing into the air. After a single flip she lands, though crouches slightly and brushing her hands off when walking to the device. The only thing caught before the feed cuts for most people is;]

[It just so happens that Sokka is awake, but not on patrol, so he's able to catch Lily's little test session. He gapes at the PCD camera and laughs.] You don't-- you don't really think you can teach me to do that, do you? Because if I wasn't sore before, I'll definitely be sore after this...

That? Mostly checking the integrity. You probably won't get to that level for a while.

We'll start with baby steps, yeah?

Baby steps, right. Sounds good... [Can you see the worry on his face? He's a good climber and all, but this is different.] So, when do you want to meet?

Grips and vertical poles. You're not going to be swinging around and flipping off stuff like that.

[Getting a jacket on right now while thinking on the question.]

When there's daylight, most likely. Nothing's too sore as it is, yeah?

Sore? No, no, I'm okay. Young and spry! [Total lie. Truth be told, he does have a few aches and pains... more and more as he spends his time in Adstringendum.] Today? Later today? Morning? Dusk? My schedule's open.

Young and spry, right. I'm eighteen, I know how long sore muscles can last.

[Shrugs, looking out a bit.]

Somewhere around noonish, by the PCD clocks I suppose?

A bit of a test to make sure the pipes and poles here can take some abuse.

There's better ways of doing that.

Perhaps, but this comes with some sense itself. I'm teaching someone to do similar moves.

Just... trust me I'm fine. I'll be there, okay?

[And here he is, just as promised, somewhere around noon according to his PCD. Sokka calls out, hand raised to hide his eyes from the noontime sun.]

Lily? Lily, I made it!

And when does that come in use?

When the floor's not safe to walk on. Possibly some other things that isn't just for entertainment. Plus it builds up certain muscles.

Oh yes. I forgot humans can't do the things I can.

Yup. We're all fickle and powerless... for the most part. Gravity still works against us, at least.

[And she's back at the building as well, in similar (if not the same) clothes as yesterday. Given that Sokka knows how Lily values buckets, she's bringing one to an area before dumping it out by a wall. Prior to the dumping, it seems to have been filled with sand and dirt.]

Right on time!

[Well, no time was actually set.]

And no worries, we really will be starting out with the basics. Lesson one; grip. You want to start with the vertical or horizontal?

Uuuhh... which one's harder? Because I'm thinking I should do the harder thing first, otherwise I might not have the strength to do it later.

[Makes sense to him, so it ought to make sense to her, right?]

Difficulty depends on the person. I learned to vault and swing on the horizontal bars first when I was younger, but that's because of the implications of using the vertical ones. Horizontal require a strong hand grip, being good and aware of what's around and where the ground is and balance. Vertical poles would be more difficult for some because it'll develop muscles that aren't concentrated on so much.

Either way, we'll only be able to focus on one each time.

I know. Sometimes I wonder how you survive.

Well, in that case, let's just go with the easier one. I've gotten a little... lazy about training, and I think it might be better if I can ease into it.

[He slaps his hands together, ready and willing to listen to exactly what Lily's instructing him to do.]

A stubborn nature and overpopulation.

We'll try the vertical to see how well you catch on. We'll probably have to switch to the horizontal anyway, but it's good to know where to start. First, you got something underneath your trousers? Shorts, perhaps... It's easier to grip with skin during lessons.

[Because while she can do quick stuff with hers on, it's hard to stay on a pole with your thighs when there's fabric giving you some slip.]

[Aaaaaand, here comes the blushing and the awkward shifting.] I, uh... I didn't-- You didn't tell me to wear something specific, did you? I mean, I have my, you know, my-- I'm wearing shorts, but..

[Oh, spirits, what a mess he is all of a sudden! His voice raises in pitch and he gulps down his worry.] Isn't it a little cold for that? [Says the guy from the South Pole...]

Underwear works just fine for this.

[Dear lord, it almost seems cruel with how easy it was to fluster the guy up.]

It is pretty cold, but this won't take long. As I said, we'll probably switch over to the horizontal... That you can keep fully clothed.

[Have a look, Lily. A very uncertain, slightly smokey look. Sokka is so not looking forward to wrapping his legs around anything cold, especially with little protection for more... temperature sensitive areas. XD]

[Must be careful.]

You'd better believe it won't take long. I'll be sure to pick it up quick, don't you worry...

[Man. He's got to take off his coat to get to his belt, and his belt to get to his pants, and his pants to get to the shorts and bare skin, and somewhere along the way, the boots had to go, too. In the end, he's not looking too happy in his state of almost complete undress.]

Can I at least put my coat back on? [Sokka's used to extreme cold, sure, but he doesn't have a lot of body fat at all, and usually he's wrapped in furs and hides.]
